Well, Even though I would win a license or not in the giveaway, I would like to share some feedback regarding Windows 7.
I have used it on one of my computers for few months. But again i switched back to Windows XP the reason not being that Windows 7 is bad, Its still some time before everything works on the fly on Windows 7 just like it does on Windows XP.
I even wrote a post on my blog about 10 reasons not to upgrade to Windows 7, the link i can give if asked for. But i would say, Win 7 is a great OS , perhaps the best MS made a bit better than Windows XP. There are some minor issues if you got a old hardware or old softwares.
I would be using it when i buy a new system otherwise i am sticking with Windows XP.

Hi, so first i want take you best wishes for New Year:)This surprise for users is very good idea. I’m using Windows 7 from first BETA, and now I’m using Windows 7 Enterprise (trial 90 days). It’s make me happy because I’m reading UneIT for every day. This promotion can give me free and legal operating system from Microsoft
I’m using Windows in home, so Home Premium is optimal system for me, and I’m be very happy if I win Windows 7, because it’s the best present for CHRISTMAS and that be GREAT !!!!
So if you like my coment, and want make me happy

Install is very fast than Vista.
When I activate online or by phone is ok.
It’s very good for XP userto upgrade their Windows System.
You only need 2GB ram to run your apps as soon as you like.

Hi to everyone.
,
Windows 7 Ultimate, installed fine, activation went smoothly !
My first impression:
Aero – peek – nice feature, but not very useful for me, however is more useful that aero-shake which is nice and all, but only to show friends , at least for me…
Applocker – I can say I’m impressed. Is much easier to configure that SRC(Software Restriction Policies). This is a great feature, when do you share your computer with other people and you want to have some control over what apps then can run.
Bitlocker- great with TMP , without it is still nice but much less secure.
Some other interesting things:
-ability to easy configuration systray icons, but in my case it is not working so great , example: Right Mark CPU icon after each reboot is hidden , but it should be shown, well overall it is a great thing,
-new power management profiles – for me about 15 minutes more on battery that on Vista,
-action center – is nice to have all important information about security and also troubleshoot computer problems in one place,
-home groups – simplify the tasks associated with sharing music, pictures and documents within your home network, but to use all computers must have windows 7,
- premium games-more solitaire games
-ability to place gadget on any place in windows desktop, but auto-alignment to grids is irritating sometimes,
-new taskbar is nice too.
Thing which I don’t like:
-“xp-mode” after short test I don’t see any real reason to use it at home computer, in company maybe, but if I must use some older software I still will choose normal virtualization and better imho virtualization software virtualbox,
-Windows Experience Index – nothing really improved here, it make some score rating which is not very useful when it coming to playing games and changes your graphic drivers can changes your score quite dramatically…
-in 64bit edition still lives “digitally signed drivers”,
-some problem with my sound card , after waking up from hibernation I don’t have sound, must reboot to get it back…
That’s all and thanks for reading.
Happy New Year !

So for rehabilitation. I’m read here some words about installation and speed. Installation in Windows 7 is faster than Vista and contains more information about installer. Windows 7 after installation detect all the devices. Same use is pleasant and very intuitive. Windows 7 is more speedy than Vista, and using so less RAM. So if I must choose, without thinking I’ll take Windows 7.

Hii win W7 Ultimate,i read a post on another forum that im a looser because i belive that those keys ale legal, how i can check is my key for win 7 is legal?any confirmation?
January 1st, 2010
Happy New Year Silver.
Thanks again for the present. Sorry i couldnt give a review earlier as requested.
I can tell you that i have just installed win 7 & activated no problems whatsoever.
Coming from vista I must tell you that win 7 is a very secure, faster & better improvement over vista. Booting is speedy, file management is easy & fast and browsing is very reliable & also win 7 use less resources than vista.
Security wise is top notch and less irritaing UAC popups unlike vista. vista was very unreponsive and slow
However i do encounter sometimes browser freezing when surf internet in win 7 but not a major problem.
I would give win 7 a rating of 10/10
Once again thanks for the opportunity to upgrade to a better OS
Regards
Jay

Happy new year!
Well I already installed Windows 7 and my experience is a positive one: I got mouse and keyboard use from the install screens. The install process is so easy that even a drunk monkey with ADD could do it.It completely installed in about 20 minutes. Before Windows 7, due to the fact that I had an ati card the image was low resolution and off center (without the drivers installed). With 7 everything was perfect and worked well.
Well you don’t have much to say when everything goes ok isn’t it?
I’ll add here a few tips for you all Win+tab will trigger a beautiful 3d effect and it’s also a test to see if you have a full Aero desktop.
[Adrian, thanks for your comment. I truly appreciate your help here, but due to copyright concerns, the following part of your comment is removed. Sorry.]

i made some time and have installed win7 thanks to Silver for the gift and i like it very much.
it seem so light on resources and everything is running fast.

January 2nd, 2010
Hi all,I must first say how Impressed I am with windows 7(ultimate).
I have always used xp,used vista once and vowed never again,so it was with much apprehension+atticipation that I left my old friend(xp) behind and started with 7.
The first thing that struck me was just the speed, everything just seemed faster and snappier.I had no problems Installing either, all my drivers for everything were all found without issue.
I do like the way you can get under the hood of windows this time around, you could last time but it was hard to do,now there are a lot more options available to you.
To sum up I love windows 7,everything about it screams quality, from the useful snipping tool and sticky notes down to the tiny details that make this operating system the ultimate windows 7.
Well done Microsoft.
I would also like to give thanks to the owner of this blog, for giving me the chance to use windows 7,and I have to say I have had a good look around these last two days and you have a great blog here, some very Intersesting articles.Bye for now Richard.

But I have a question, if my computer is infected with virut in the future, can I active the OS again after reinstall with the same key?

Boot time is 1 min, 12 sec. with AV, firewall and another 8 startup prgr. I can acces my comp. entirelly around 1min, 30 sec. And the best of all it says GENUINE. This is really a great software. I, ve been using Vista for 2 years now and it was the down of all OS. I prefer Win 7 over XP as well. Now all my favorite prgr works in Win 7.

January 4th, 2010
I had a trial version of Windows 7 Ultimate installed on my notebook. To avoid having to reconfigure a new install I wanted to see if I could downgrade from Ultimate to the Professional that good luck had bestowed upon me in the UneIT “Windows 7 Giveaway”.
Searching the web I decided on the following procedure:
1) I copied the content of a Win 7 Ultimate disk into a folder on my second partitioning (i.e. D:\Win7) – The same can be done using 7-Zip to extract the files from an ISO file.
2) In the registry I changed two entries allowing my existing Ultimate (trial) to be downgraded to Professional (i.e. Step 3 of http://tech.icrontic.com/articles/upgrade-the-windows-7-rc-to-retail)
3) To be certain that also the Win 7 Ultimate (from my D:\Win7 folder) would offer to install the Professional version, I deleted the file: D:\Win7\Sources\ei.cfg (see http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7install/thread/ba4ac95e-3bea-4fef-a959-fae8fb64b29c)
4) Upon initiating the new installation (i.e. clicking D:\Win7\setup.exe) I was met with a window offering me to select, among the various versions of Win 7, the OS I wanted to install (i.e. Professional).
5) At this stage I had to remove a few large programmes, since Win 7 requires some 16 GB plus free space to install, though it proceeded with a warning when I had 12.8 GB available (i.e. the reserved space can be freed upon completion).
6) The following “Upgrading Windows…” has five steps and took about an hour including a few reboots. More programmes installed are likely to increase particularly the steps of “Gathering files, settings, and programs” (i.e. from my previous installation); and the final “Transferring files, settings, and programs” (these two took 15 min and 25 min, respectively. Having the required 16 GB or, as in my case, less may also be a factor.
7) Upon final reboot a “Set Up Windows” was asking me to type in my Product Key and subsequently the OS got activated.
Two new folders (hidden and read-only) also had appeared on my C-drive($INPLACE.~TR and $WINDOWS.~Q). They took up 852 MB and seemed to be leftovers from the downgrade (http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/6685/what-are-the-inplace.tr-and-windows.q-folders-and-can-i-delete-them/). The referred article suggests to use Disk Clean Up to get rid of them, but – at least in my case – they did not show up. For each of the folders I first gave myself “Full control” by: right-click -> Properties -> [User] -> Edit -> ticking ‘Full Control’ and ‘Modify’ -> OK. I then verified the content and decided that – yes – there should be no problem deleting them.
Finally, I had to reorganize my Start Menu, from where my pinned items had disappeared.
9) In conclusion, as others had found out before me, it is possible to downgrade a Win 7 installation and retain your existing configuration. Nevertheless, if you have the time my suggestion is to do a clean install, since an ever-inflating registry is likely to also be a hallmark of Win 7.
Most of all, I am delighted to have been able to move beyond the trial-ware to a fully activated OS. Thanks to Silver and UneIT for the Windows 7 Giveaway!

As promised this is the first of the 3 reviews for Win 7 Pro -
Windows 7 Pro 32 bit (Virtualbox running in WinXP Pro)
* Install was smooth and took 20 mins. There was one reboot and then the desktop was loaded once the final part of the install was done.
* System Bootup took 40 – 50 secs, which was not bad for a virtualized OS install.
* Was able to activate the OS properly once I enabled the Network Interface for Virtualbox to get online.
* For the 512 MB RAM as allocated, I must say the system ran very smoothly. The GUI is nice and fast.
* I then ran one of the inbuilt apps – Paint, the ribbon interface takes getting used to but is definitely productive.
* Disk space requirement has gone up. Even MS recommends a min. of 16 GB..sigh. Even my nLited XP install occupied 1 GB after a fresh install.
Overall I got a very good impression of Windows 7 unlike Vista. It has emboldened me to find some spare disc space in my laptop. I will set it up as Dual boot with XP (XP will remain my primary OS for now). So my next review will be on how my experiences are with Win 7 on the Laptop (comparing it with XP).
January 4th, 2010
It´s a huge chance to win a license; because, correct me anybody, if I am wrong:
- Windows 7 Ultimate: 70 licenses
- Windows 7 Professional: 30 licenses
- Kaspersky Internet Security 2010: 14 licenses
Awesome and I got one Windows 7 Key.
What a giveaway, what a gift !!!
Thank you very much Silver and the others members of UneIT.com.
Good luck for you, guys.
Happy New Year 2010 for all and thanks again.
January 4th, 2010
Thank you silver..
I manage to use the window 7 key and activation went smoothly.. im using vista and manage to upgrade to window 7 with out any hassle
now im using window 7 the only problem i
encounter is few of my software is not compatible yet in window 7 so i have to uninstall it.
From vista, window 7 is a very secure, faster, better improvement and the enchancement is way better than vista… Rebooting pc is fast, file management is easy to use, also win 7 use less resources than vista.
However i do encounter my browser freezing when surfing net.
January 4th, 2010
Hi Silver. Thank you very very much for your gift. I was surprised and delighted to learn that I’ve won a key for Windows 7 Ultimate. I’m still undecided whether to install the 32 or 64 bit version. I’ve checked and find that my CPU is capable of running 64 bit although so far i’ve been using 32 bit Vista. Still need to get more info on the subject. This gift has given me possibilities that I’d never considered before. I plan to get back to you with my impressions of Windows 7 eventually.
Thank you again. My best wishes for a happy and successful New Year.
Freddy
January 4th, 2010
wow man, i received the key
thank you for this, i dont test yet, but soon i try.
happy new year ti you and all family
thanks!!!
January 5th, 2010
I just switched from Vista to Win7×64UE using a clean install. The installation went without any problem and faster then what I had expected when compared to Vista. I have not activated it yet because I want to switch back and forth between x86/x64.
What I noticed right away is that 7 seems to be more responsive and faster when opening programs. The placement of the gadgets anywhere on the desktop is awesome. There is no “classic menu” and the “quick launch” is hidden. The “show desktop” is on the right side near the clock. It would be nice to be able to move the “show desktop” to the left side near the “start” orb. Swinging my mouse from the right side to click on the “show desktop” and then having to swing it back to the “start” orb is not natural for me. However, 7 is great. Thanks Silver.
January 5th, 2010
Many THX for the windows 7 professional key!
:D
I haven’t tested the differences yet between the Home Premium and the Professional versions, because I still am busey with installing all the programs on the virtual XP Pro mode for my spouse.
THX to Silver,he saved my marriage!!!
January 6th, 2010
thank you very much for this wonderful gift
January 6th, 2010
installation and activation were quite simple, much easier for amateur people and here is my opinion about win 7 :
::good::
-it’s beautiful them will satisfy every one and you would like to show it to others.
-all languages (like middle east right to left handed) are already installed.
-windows drive letter is always (C:\) even if you are using another OS like xp in the first drive.
-show desktop icon has moved from quick lunch to corner and it’s easier to click on it,specially when you choose small icons for taskbar.
-now program icons on the taskbar can be rearranged.
::bad::
-network icon doesn’t show incoming and outgoing activities.
-many of the windows setting which were in multiple tabs in single window, now are separated in different windows, instead some have a links in the other windows;best example for this fragmentation is desktop setting.
-quick lunch toolbar is really missing.and space of the programs pined to taskbar is too big,i don’t no how to replace quick lunch toolbar when transferring
from XP to 7.
-alt-tab button behavior is annoying.
-icon-spacing can not be changed anymore and i couldn’t choose a layout to satisfy me.
-however file copy dialog shows more details but is clearly slower than xp.
overall switching to a new and feature rich operating system worth to ignore all downsides of it.i remember when i saw XP for the first time i wasn’t pleased of new theme, but now i think how much i was silly that time,
windows 7 is similar to XP,it takes a while for every one to get used to it.
January 7th, 2010
So, i have installed 7. hmm, looks so cool. vanishing all boredom in vista. windows 7 is better, i think. =D
The graphic, functions, and performance are better than vista. Really like it.
For the best of Win7
Keep good job !!
Two thumbs up !!

Feedback Part 1:
Upgrading from Windows 7 Starter Edition to Windows 7 Ultimate with the promotional license was so FAST and EASY! All i did was use Windows Anytime Upgrade and input the key. After 15 mins or so, my Windows 7 Starter Edition was upgraded to Ultimate Edition.

Thank you for making such a campaign, your campaign, but I got another cıkmadı. I want you so. Good work
January 7th, 2010
Thank you. you for making such a campaign, do you have another campaign, but did not come to me. I also want very much. Good work
January 7th, 2010
@Francis
Glad to hear that from you. That is the most recommended way to use these giveaway licenses.
January 8th, 2010
Thank you Silver, I really appreciate this.
Unfortunately, I ran into problems.
Upon installation I was greeted with a blue screen and the message that my BIOS is not fully ACPI compliant. It looks like I’m stuck with XP until I upgrade my hardware too. I’ll write about my experience when I manage to ugrade.
January 8th, 2010
Thank you Silver.
The OS installed very nicely and was much easier then XP installation or Vista.
It was easier to figure out the drop down to enter ones location and computer preferences. I found that it seemed to go in much faster especially the updates.
Activation was very easy and I also noted that we just have to click on it within the activate now in the menu to be certain it activated.
What I liked was the fact that one can scan for compatibility and mine did just fine.
Other then the audio card as there are no drivers yet for it, but if I have to update my audio card it will be worth it.
I find this OS, lightning fast compared to what I had before.
Norton works great with it. So does my firewall Online Armor.
I love the task symbols which make going to everyday usage items such as messenger very easy.
I really enjoy the fact that the annoying security screen for every program being installed does not occur like it did in Vista.
I also found that my graphics card works really nice with this version of the OS.
I find that the shutdown is a bit faster then XP or Vista.
I also noted that the updates installed twice as fast as before and my internet connection is really fast.
I also liked that some of those important updates occurred while installing and there was no lagging while it installed into my computer.
Probably because it scans your computer while installing to see what drivers may be needed to avoid any issues and my computer is not exactly a new computer!
So I was surprised how easy everything went.
I love the log in screen especially the dots that come together and the color blue is really easy on the eyes.
All in all, I’d have to say for once I am
pleased with this OS, now lets see how the security surrounding it works and see if later on it keeps up to its promise.
Again thank you for the wonderful OS. Win 7 is excellent in my opinion, and I hope others will tell us how games run on it.
BTW, my messenger also works much better on this version as many times in XP and Vista it seemed that my messages were not getting to them, or lagging behind what they were sending to me. Now they are receiving them and faster then before.
Thanks again for a wonderful promotion. Hugs Tylicia
January 8th, 2010
Oh and my above comment was for Windows 7 Professional in case you are wondering. Hugs Silk40dd
January 29th, 2010
Well, this review is a long time coming… I’ve been busy… what can I say. OK, the prospect of installing Windows 7 was a bit intimidating.
To make a long story short, I finally got my XP installation and data files organized just right and made partition images of both drives. OK, now we’re ready…
Windows 7… not your accountant’s OS anymore. It’s obvious from the beginning of installation process. None of the endless panes of text about the wonderfs of Windows. Instead it’s pretty if not downright gorgeous. It’s finally aesthetic.
I was surprised at how fast the install went. Only snag was it didn’t tell me to remove the DVD so after the 1st reboot it tried to start the install process all over. Easy enough to abort and reboot. Started right back up where it should have.
When Win7 first started, I didn’t know what to think. It is SO Different! and pretty!
It’s going to take some getting used to. Also, things work differently but I eventually was able to feel my way around.
Got Firefox installed and imported my old bookmarks so I could check my email and catch up with goings-on.
But man! Windows 7 loves memory. I have 1.5 GB and with Firefox tabs and internet radio playing thru WMP over 800 MB of RAM was being used!!!
Hmmm, definitely need more memory.
At this point I’m also realizing how much work remains to reinstall all the programs I routinely use. And let’s not even talk about learning how to use and customize Win7. Big learning curve ahead… heh, it’s the price of being a “computer enthusiast.”
I also installed Virtual PC and XP Mode. I’ve been very intrigued by these. I also tried loading a vhd I made from an Acronis image of XP system. Of course, it wouldn’t boot at all and Safe Mode would only go so far.
But it is nice to know that I can install any apps that don’t play nice with Win7 into a XP Mode virtual machine and then “publish” so it runs directly in Win7. Very nice touch.
But still it means that I’m going to have to install everything. And then after I finally “get” how Win7 works, I’ll probably have to go back to scratch in order to set everything setup the way I want it.
Windows 7 is quite nice and very graphics and consumer friendly, BUT it really deserves a much more powerful machine and a whole lot more memory to utilize it’s full potential especially if you want to play with virtual machines.
Thanks Silver!!!

Hi Silver,
Thank you for making me winner of Windows 7 Ultimate – it’s a kind of dream come true:)))
Unfortunately I spent the first month of the New Year in the hospital – flu worsened with hepatitis B. And now when I’m out and still alive I cleaned the mess in my e-mail box and probably I lost the key.
If it’s possible can you re-send the key, so that the dream can come really true…
Thank you for the joy you gave us:)))

Finally installed win 7 last week,Was going to do an upgrade but I decided on a clean install so that the system wouldn’t face any problems, Install took approximately 25 minutes which I found was fast compared to xp,at first the resolution was not coordinated so I connected to the internet where windows update prompted me to download drivers as well security updates on restart, resolution was perfect, plugged in my usb desk-jet printer It was detected by win 7(no need for installation disc,I love the aero effect, the pinning of favorite programs on the task bar.
Playing around I found I could make the task bar icons smaller (right click on start menu ,properties task bar and use small icons)which this option I got to pin more programs there and besides it looks way cooler smaller, the same I did for the desktop icons.Quick launch was not there so I simply right click on taskbar->toolbars->new toolbar an add the quick launch folder which is hidden in C:\Users\%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch. All programms install fine without problems.
Windows 7 is great.
