Microsoft had been responsive to customers more than ever since the public testing of the upcoming flagship OS, Windows 7. Just when the Internet is filled with info around the leaked builds of Windows 7 RTM and all kinds of guesses and rumors on the OS availability, Microsoft published another official Q&A on Windows 7 Blog. We are overwhelmed by the information made available by the Microsoft talkie, Brandon LeBlanc, host of the blog.

I made a table out of information provided on the post to help you better understand who will get what at which time.

A piece of surprise is the declaration from Brandon

OEMs will receive Windows 7 RTM software images beginning approximately 2 days after we officially RTM.

Instead of, as previous leaked info on Web stated, OEMs will only receive it beginning September 1st. Seems like Microsoft had teamed up with OEM partners really well this time.

Brandon didn’t say Windows 7 is finished, instead he emphasized Windows 7’s development is on exact track as they previously announced, which will be delivered within last two weeks in July. He clarified the post is not an announcement that they had RTM’d Windows 7.

Also within the post, Brandon had answered some hot questions.

I’m happy to confirm that we will indeed be offering a family pack of Windows 7 Home Premium (in select markets) which will allow installation on up to 3 PCs.

Beta testers will not automatically receive a free copy of Windows 7.

Albeit unconfirmed, many info sources could be sure about the fact that Microsoft had already finished the development of Windows 7, which got signed off on July 18th, and had probably sealed the wrap. Now what’s left for them is just a decision on when to announce it officially, which should happen within this week, as speculators highly anticipated.

Okay. It’s simple now. Just wait another two weeks, and Windows 7 will arrive. The minute it’s available, I’ll have a small celebration by giving away several opportunities to test drive the legendary Windows 7. Stay tuned, friends. :-)
