Two weeks ago, people had been guessing which build would eventually got selected to be presented to the wide public serving as the final Release Candidate for Windows 7.

Build 7077 was firstly identified as official RC-escrow, then build 7082 was rumored to be a RC for RC. Well, after that guessing, people shifted attention to newly published builds, and later the leaked torrents of the official RC.

While surfing system files in Windows 7 RC, I came to realize Windows 7 RC is actually the repacked build 7084, 6.1.7084 for sure.

Build 7084 is of branch win7rc, while Microsoft have another branch for rtm, so build 7084 has another build name, build 7110.

Build 7084 info: 6.1.7084.0.winmain_win7rc.090414-1900

Build 7110 info: 6.1.7110.0.winmain.090414-1906

RC info: 6.1.7100.0.winmain_win7rc.090421-1700

So Microsoft had checked build 7084 internally for a whole week before releasing it as the official RC build.

Interesting, build 7084 = build 7110 = RC
