Time to move ahead.

After a year’s waiting, a time of total 45nm will be closer, at least for Intel.

The only product lines that persisted in 65nm is the low-end Pentium Dual-Core, E2x00, the budget overclocking legend, now will get a long-awaited refreshment.

Intel updated their Processor Spec Finder to include this E3200, symbolizing the beginning of shipping E3x00 series.

Built on 45nm technology, E3200, counting from 2.6GHz, will start with stepping R0, a pretty newer that normally means greater ability of overclocking. Besides these changes, E3200 has basically inherited many features of E2x00, 1MB L2 cache, 800MHz FSB, and other general features.

As the low-profile processor, E3x00s will not incorporate hardware virtualization technology.

More info will be released in recent future. We’ll have a better look when Intel shipped the products.

Analysts say the price of E3x00 will remain unchanged from that of the E2x00 series.

Motherboard makes claim E3x00 will be available in market very soon.
