Windows 7 Ecosystem Readiness Program
Hi guys, long time no see.
Maybe you still remember days ago, I had published a piece of news about a Connect registration will will lead registrants to get all the resources available for Windows 7 Beta from Microsoft up till now. I got complaints from Microsoft and that’s why I encrypted that page.
Okay. I know that story goes quite long later and eventually that lead to a bold action from Microsoft to ban it temporarily. And many ones got tipped from my article started to post on their various websites without any info on sources. Well, it is right that Microsoft is the actual source for all these, but people really need to acknowledge the respect…whatever, let’s move on.
Well, I did blah quite a lot. Now begins the news.
Microsoft had officially launched this program I had tipped you to get involved with before, Windows 7 Ecosystem Readiness Program for sure, to people worldwide.
The Windows 7 Ecosystem Readiness Program can help you ensure that your new and existing devices, systems, and applications will be compatible with Windows 7. Through Microsoft Connect, the program provides you access to Windows 7 builds, support and toolkits to aid your development efforts in building innovative solutions for your customers.
The program delivers development, training and testing resources, including:
• Access to Windows 7 builds and toolkits. On the Windows Ecosystem area of Microsoft Connect (registration required), you can download the most recent Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 releases, updates to the Windows Logo Kit (WLK), Windows Driver Kit (WDK), and Software Development Kit (SDK), and checked builds and symbols for debugging. Different SKUs of both 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Windows 7 are included in seven different languages.
• Community offerings and partner support. You can take advantage of benefits such as access to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2–based technical documents, white papers, and newsgroups. After you enter the Microsoft Connect site, you can use the support forums and log support requests. You’ll also be able to contact us by e-mail.
• Windows 7–based application testing labs. We’ve established testing labs in Redmond so we can help you ensure that your device or application works well with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Over the coming months, we’ll offer labs in locations all over the world.
There are far more information on a Microsoft page. Check here: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/win7/default.mspx
Windows 7 will be a great Operating System. Enjoy the early joys.
