Finally, after about 100 days’ waiting, Microsoft will release Windows Home Server to the public MSDN/TechNet subscription downloads around March 24th, 2009.

Oh…well..this is awkward. I don’t really know if Microsoft would still like to release this after such a long time. They had been updating MSDN/TechNet but seemlying never intended to release that piece of software, thus making me more like a rumor starter…

But things aren’t supposed to be like this. They did have the plan and had been executing it. What I said is true and Philip at mswhs.com had confirmed the validity of this. It just seems like Microsoft wouldn’t like to deliver. Maybe they have another plan for WHS.

As to that special pages I grabbed images from, they got deleted by Microsoft after it was seen as evidence when Windows 7 Beta was reported to release on as early as Dec 17, 2008. So those links don’t exist now, or become unavailable to the public.

I don’t know if Microsoft postones WHS on purpose only because they wanna screw this post up, but I believe they won’t. They must have their reasons to hold back, and apparently nobody knows why.

I hope they would release it soon, not to prove me right, but to do something that was truly due for quite a long time.

Nevertheless, if nothing happened really, I’m afraid I’ll have to appologize to you guys and I’ll never report things in this way.

Yeah… I’ve been waiting for it to appear too but someone said on an MSDN blog that WHS got a little delayed but its appearance is still due. Let’s hope they make it sooner rather than later.

Any chance of emailing the link? I have only a few days left on my evaluation copy and I was hoping it would be released on MSDN subscriptions before the eval time ran out.
