Big news, dudes!

Seems Microsoft had been secretly preparing a Christmas gift for all those subscribers to their premium services, MSDN.

You got it, that is Windows Home Server! With Power Pack 1 integrated!

After “years”, actually months, of back and forth, Microsoft finally decided to give it a green light to place WHS on the shelf of MSDN. The guys at Microsoft conference this winter were not kidding…

Although released to MSDN, at present, Windows Home Server is just placed on a page specifically for beta bits about which I don’t much about and there seems no way to log into.

There exists such a special page on MSDN, which still utilizes the old subscriber downloads interface. On that page you are more likely to discover the latest beta bits rolling out for MSDN. However, all the betas or RTM products you see here will only be accessible on MSDN subscriber secure downloads page in two weeks or even longer making this page more like a forecast for new software coming to MSDN.

Pretty confusing, huh? Really don’t know why they maintain such a page…

[Link to the page was removed due to complains.]

Whatever, subscribers will definitely get WHS in the very near future! Congratulations!

And also it will be available on TechNet. Some people smile? Yeah, you should…Microsoft is a generous giant.

So from today on, keep an eye on the subscriber downloads pages. Hope they can make it before Christmas to prove Microsoft a real Santa.
