IBM Cell CPU in Action on Desktop
IBM Cell, the processor that will break the wall, once and for all, is stepping out to finally start to power the desktops by assisting the system as an accelerator on video processing.
Utilizing Spursengine, Cell’s name in Toshiba chips, actually a slimmed version of Cell, with a memory of 128MB 1.6GHz XDR, WinFast PxVC1100 will be a video accelerator that has immense power within.
When IBM and their Japanese partners jointly released the Cell processor, they already slated the future plan of spreading Cells. However, things are going that smooth in market. Greatest chip Cell is, the super complex programming APIs made it a lackluster.
Glad to see Cell on play in market finally. More products will be expected. Who knows what change it will bring to the whole PC industry. Just wait and see.

I’d love to have IBM back to CPU market and take over AMD to present a face-off with Intel.
