An intriguing article about Seagate Cheetah 15K.6 was posted here yesterday, from which can we conclude the superb performance from this latest monster SAS HDD.

However, many wonders what it will be like when these Cheetahs get linked together? Now I got a post [source same as this] to show you this:

Test Setup:

CPU: Intel Core2Quad QX9650 oc 4050 MHz

GPU: GTX280

MEM: DDR2-1200 5-5-5-15

MB: Maximus II Formula

PSU: OP-1000W

OS: Windows Vista SP1 64-bit

RAID Card: Adaptec RAID 2405

HDD: ST3146356SS * 4

Have a warm up, guys.

Here begins the magic:

With all the stunning average transfer rate, burst rate, and access time, WOW!

It is clear that the RAID card is the bottleneck now in realizing higher performance, which is really rare since we got not many chances to push the I/O system to the very limit. Given a higher-profiled RAID card, the result may get well beyond 600MB/S in maximum transfer rate.

That will be.well, you say it.just anything but ordinary!

Hey, it seems this buddy is really not a nobody. So are you ready to get one, or four plus.
