Posted on July 11th, 2008 in Product Info
Western Digital had released its latest 1TB internal desktop HDD, WD1001FALS, under its brand new WD Caviar Black series.
Test from coolaler setup:
CPU Intel Core 2 Quad QX9650 4005 MHz
Graphics HD3870
Motherboard Model Maximus Extreme
Memory Corsair Memory DDR3-1800
HDD Mtron MSD-3025*2 / WD WD1001FALS*1
RAID card Adaptec RAID 2405
PCMARK 05
PCMARK Vantage gains in comparison
WD3000GLFS [300GB] versus WD1001FALS [1000GB], an inner comparison.
Quite good is the new 1TB drive form Western Digital, not topping the performance list while having its own clear advantages in CPU usage, burst rate and access time.
Good job from WD!
